Sandwell & West Birmingham NHS Trust, in partnership with the BAME Staff Network at the University of Birmingham, Recognize Black Heritage & Culture, Ladywood Arts Forum and Flim Hub Midlands request the pleasure of your company to celebrate Windrush Day at our Windrush Garden Party.

The event will take place on Sunday 23rd June between 1 pm - 9 pm at Soho House, Soho Avenue, off Soho Road Handsworth B18 5LB.

Come and join us for an afternoon of food, music, entertainment and garden games to honour the legacy of the early pioneers.

The day will also include Black Heritage Walks Network who will be hosting their Madiba Handsworth tour looking at the rich history of the African Caribbean community in Handsworth.

Film Hub Midlands will be supporting with a free screening of Fire in Babylon.

FIRE IN BABYLON is a truly authentic celebratory romp through modern Afro- Caribbean history. Using the remarkably successful West Indian cricket team of the 1970s as its focus, the film tells the story of struggle and emancipation, of racism and integration and ultimately of the glory derived across the whole of the West Indies as Viv Richards and his men wreaked havoc and revenge against their former colonial masters.
